the tessellation

A weave-cell is a hexagon. A hexagon has exactly 6 neighbours — and the cortex has exactly 6 white arms. So each white arm is aimed at one neighbour: the white weave is the connective tissue between cells.

The 8 production engines don't divide a hexagon's 6-fold symmetry, so they stay local — each cell's own machinery, its own lower hub. The floor is islands; the cortex is the sea.

what couples across an edge

White arm k of cell A reaches into neighbour B, where it can touch B's 8 engines. So A's whites tour B's engines too: K(6,8) per cell, plus white→engine reach across every shared edge. Globally one white role threads engines in many cells.

the counts are hexagonal

chunks per cell = centered-hexagonal numbers:
1 · 7 · 19 · 37 · 61 … (3n²+3n+1)

And 7 cells make a bigger hex-flower — aperture-7, the same nesting Uber's H3 uses for the globe. The weave is self-similar: 7 ops-cells → a district, 7 districts → a region.

on the cylinder

Hexagons honeycomb the plane; wrap it with an integer azimuthal period and the honeycomb tiles the rind shell — unbounded along the axis, closed around the spin.
